Hey, I’m Ali!

Motion graphics, 2D animation and title sequences are my passion! I love working both in the commercial world and in the documentary film landscape, crafting pieces that are detail driven, thoughtful, and dazzling to the eye. 

I have worked professionally in film and video production for over 11 years, pitching concepts, directing, editing, and animating pieces for regional and national brands including broadcast commercials, brand videos, title sequences and animation for multi-platform campaigns.    

As a Senior Director and Motion Designer at Big Communications (2013 AdAge Small Agency of the Year Southeast Gold) I have created live action and animated pieces for clients like Valvoline, Logan’s Roadhouse, TNT Fireworks, InSinkerator, Tenet Health, Royal Cup Coffee, The Southern Research Institute, Sloss Music and Arts Festival, and the Sidewalk Film Festival, among many others. Prior to this, I worked for Time Inc Digital Studios, shooting, editing and animating videos for magazine brands like SouthernLiving, Coastal Living, Cooking Light, Food & Wine, Real Simple, and Travel + Leisure. Additionally, I’ve worked on a number of freelance videos for clients including Publix, Norwegian Cruise Lines, and Kraft. In 2017 I received a Southeast Regional EMMY© Award nomination for a stop-motion title sequence for Alabama Public Television’s Journey Proud, and in 2018 I directed a music video shoot for Interscope recording artists The Struts. 

When not creating work for brands, I’ve collaborated on feature documentary film projects which have screened at festivals all over the world. These include A Life in Waves (2017) which premiered at South by Southwest and is currently available to stream on hulu and The Orange Years, which premiered at DOC NYC in 2018. Most recently, I worked on Lost Weekend, which premiered at the 2019 Tribeca Film Festival. 

I love to collaborate with clients and filmmakers to explore ideas, solve visual problems and tell stories. I occasionally take on freelance projects and am always looking for creative collaborators. Feel free to say Hey!
